As 1.4477 stainless steel coil contains a considerable amount of ferrite phase, which has a body-centred cubic (BCC) structure, its plastic toughness is lower than that of austenitic phase with face-centred cubic (FCC), and has a relatively high tough-brittle transition temperature. 1.4477 stainless steel coil has a high yield strength, which is twice that of austenitic stainless steel. 1.4477 stainless steel coil has good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and good oxidation resistance, so it has good stress corrosion resistance in aqueous media containing chlorides. 1.4477 stainless steel coil is mainly used in the manufacture of equipment components for oil and gas and marine applications.
